The Elle Decoration Magazine.

PRODUCT RESEARCH.

This research can be found in back issues of Elle Decoration Magazine.

I love the floral qualities on all the products from these pages. They are all very interesting designs that work well on various outcomes.

I like each of the items on this page, the different shaped cushions are interesting and unique and I also like the round pouf. These could be possible ideas for end products.

This chair can be split into separate pieces of furniture. I really like this idea and it fits in with my jigsaw inspired collection. I love the different patterns on each piece and the different arrangements that could be made.
This idea is something I would like to develop to fit to my own ideas.

I love this cushion for its simplicity with its use of geometrics. I like how the different buttons give it a unique appearance. It is very inspiring.

The Linum Booklet.

PRODUCT RESEARCH.

These images are from a Linum booklet found in a River Island store in Manchester.

I find these examples inspirational for the different uses of embroidery and patchwork. Also, the geometrics and floral aspects fit in well with my collections.

The Bedeck Booklet.

PRODUCT RESEARCH.

These are pages from a Bedeck booklet found in a River Island store in Manchester.

These two cushion images above I like for the embroidery. One image is an all over design and the other covers a small section. The simple striped border around one of the cushions is also effective. I am interested in this idea to create my own simple decorative products as an extra to my collection.

I love these examples for the structure of the composition and the colour. I think the use of mainly black and white with little additions of colour is really successful.

The Designers Guild.

PRODUCT RESEARCH

These are examples of embroidered bedding collections from the Designers Guild. What I like about these products is the structure of the compositions making it simple yet effective. The smaller boxes to the side of the main image demonstrates what is part of those collections and they all match through colour and/or smaller scale imagery. This is a structure I am thinking of exploring in my own design work.

I also like how they have clearly stated where the composition lies and showing the scale of the image by adding diagrams.

Could this layout idea be used to create my own portfolio pages?
